Certification:

All Physician Assistants who are licensed to practice medicine in the State of Maine must first be certified by the National Commission for Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA). For details visit: www.nccpa.net.


Licensing:

The Maine State Board of Licensure in Medicine (BOLIM) is the agency responsible for licensing and monitoring Physician Assistants who practice in the State of Maine under the supervision of Medical Doctors. The Board of Osteopathic Licensure (BOL) is the agency responsible for licensing and monitoring Physician Assistants who practice in the State of Maine under the supervision of Osteopathic Doctors. Education:

The University of New England Physician Assistant Program, Maine's only PA Program, prepares master's-level Physician Assistants.
